From a historical and scenic value path, discovering the main medieval centers of the Ancient Maritime Republic
Guided tour of the villages of the Maritime Republic. Route designed for those interested in history and art of the Amalfi Coast, but not only. A set of paths to form a path guided by the high landscape value, with spectacular views of the towns of Amalfi, Ravello and Atrani, going up stairs all the way up to the old medieval center of the Petite village in the municipality of Scala. Trails that lead to hidden corners of these villages of the Amalfi Coast, immersed in what is then the heart of this beautiful site UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The route starts from Amalfi and through the narrow pedestrian streets comes from Atrani. This was the place where lived the rich and noble people during the period of the Maritime Republic. It continues along the typical typical labyrinthine streets of Atrani, where every corner appears a unique glimpse. From here it climbs along the valley of the Dragon in the direction of Ravello, passing by numerous terraced areas, including streams, lemon trees and ruins of ancient paper mills.
The last uphill stretch eventually leads to Ravello, one of the most beautiful villages of the whole Coast. Here is a must to one of its fantastic villas, Rufolo and Cimbrone, with beautiful gardens and magnificent views on the sea coast.
Then following an ancient stone staircase, it quickly descends to the village of Castiglione, especially along numerous terraces planted with olive trees. From here you can easily return to Atrani, passing by the Church of Mary Magdalene, only to end up back in the center of Amalfi.
A loop trail that takes visitors to the main churches of these villages, convenient and suitable for everyone, with comfortable clothing and always in contact with the rural life of these luoghi.è possible to return directly to the streets in San Lazzaro with the races the SITA bus.
