The name Tramonti come from “intra montes” that means “into the mountains”. In facts the town stands on various plateaus surroundend by the Mounts Lattari. The origins date at Roman times, later became part of the Duchy of Amalfi. Very famous is the Old Conservatory of St Joseph and Teresa dating at the second half of seventeenth century. Here was born the famous liqueur “Concerto”, infusion of aromatic herbs with a very particular taste. Very famous is also the dairy production (cow, goat and sheep) and the wine and chestnut production.
