Napoli
The name Napoli comes from Neapolis that means “new city”; indeed the first settlement was a bit  more north and was destroyed in the 470 b.C. Napoli doesn’t need introductions, due to the rich history and culture. The city is an open air museum that still preserve original urban structure from the greek period: that’s why the historical centre is Unesco heritage.
During the history there have been several dominations after the fall of the roman emperor: Normans, Swabians, Aragonese, Angevin and Bourbons.All these foreign populations led the make more complex the neapolitan language, that still nowadays has many french, spanish and english terms. The neapolitan language is famous all around the world thanks to the neapolitan music, that became very famous across the XIX and XX century.
Napoli is the richest city in the world for churches, convents and places of worship. It is a very big heritage from 17 century of histor: that’s why during the XVIII century the city was named the city of the 500 domes. Napoli has also a great culinary and wine tradiction. Among other things Napoli is famous for the origin of the pizza, also if the greeks were producing something similar.
