Atrani
Famous to being the smallest town in Italy, is in the “more beautiful villages of Italy” network. Founded as an ancient fishing town, during the splendor period of the Maritime Republic of Amalfi was the residence of the noble families of the Duchy of Amalfi.
The village is developed in the valley of the river Dragone between the Aureo Mount and the Civita Mount. Characteristic are small alleys mostly passable only on foot. Atrani was used often as set for numerous cinema films for its beauty and authenticity that still retains. The great Dutch graphic and engraver Mauritius Cornelius Esher took inspiration from Atrani  for his work on the series of the Metamorphosis.
