Path Tirone-High Vesuvio

Beautiful trail wide and equipped in Forest Reserve through the famous Plan of Broom. This is one of the most preserved in the Park for protection and naturalness. The dirt road stretches so mostly flat and runs through holm oak and pine forests. The path, lined by stone walls, takes you through one of the most beautiful and scenic of the entire Park. It offers continuously changing areas closed and shady in the woods at times open and stain, both dominated by the view of Vesuvio.
Along the way through beautiful volcanic formations such as lava tunnels and lava rope you can see lava flows from the eruption of 1944 colonized by pioneer species including the famous lichen Vesuvius: Stereocaulon vesuvianum. The entrance to the track is adjacent to the Laboratory of Art and Mineralogy of Vesuvius and it is close to the access to the Museum of the Vesuvius, dining facilities and picnic areas. To return you follow part of the path going in reverse. In periods ranging from April to September, our Association organizes on part of this path unforgettable twilight-night walks, with beautiful views overlooking the Gulf of Naples.
