The Furore is a very scenic route that leads from Agerola to the famous fjord. This is a narrow and picturesque valley carved by the river during Schiato. The tour follows the ancient stairways from the mountains down to the sea. At one time these were the only roads linking the villages of the coast.
Avitabile out from the square in the hamlet San Lazzaro di Agerola. It takes away Miramare and joints near the Leonardos restaurant start off on the adjacent steps to this indicated with the red and white signs of the CAI. Continue downhill to a junction on the right which always leads to the stairs to the village of Tovere (fraction of Amalfi). Going through the village until you get on the highway 366 that leads from Agerola to Amalfi. Then follow to the left and after 300 meters take the stairs on the right which lead to a chapel in the town of Conca dei Marini. Then take the path of “crazed bats” on the right of the chapel that leads to the small beach of the seaside village of the fjord of Furore.
After a nice stop, if you want even with a dip in the sea, it continues on its way. They follow the uphill stairs that climb among the houses of the seaside village until you reach the town of Sant’Elia Furore. Continuing uphill you come in via Summonti them and turn right to reach the main road 366. Continue for a brief downhill section we reach the main square of Furore. From here you can return to Agerola with SITA bus.
For those who would still walk continues uphill towards the church of San Michele. From here a few flight of stairs and take the path of “Abu Tabela”. It again passes through the valley of the river Schiato and you reach the village of San Lazzaro di Agerola, the starting point.
