Along the “Alta via of Lattari Mountains”, an old sheppards path
This hiking trail follows the Path of the Ancient Maritime Republic that, starting from the common staircase leads up to Gragnano, bypassing the mountains that divide the Province of Salerno to that of Naples
SI part of the Cathedral of the town of Scala. Continue going up the driveway leading to a parking lot near the Petite church. Here they take the stairs going up in the direction of Santa Maria ai Monti. The first section of route is uphill, Mediterranean scrub and chestnut woods.
After the climb, you reach a flat area near the sanctuary of Santa Maria ai Monti. Here we head towards the interior and is around the watershed following the slope that turns to the left, up to the “Plain Old”, near the source of Vrucciaro. Here you can continue along the wide and clear forest road on the left that all’Imbarrata door, and then turn right following the path of the three sources to close this small ring back to the source of Vrucciaro, walking around Mount Cervigliano.
Alternatively, proceed immediately to the right and after being refreshed by the pure waters of the source, you take again to the right, with a view to the Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples, and begins the descent towards Gragnano. After a first stretch through the woods we meet a path going down to zig zag and leading to the end of the path.
